Château Rieussec sits adjacent to the famed Château d’Yquem in the heart of Sauternes and holds a storied past. Classified as a First Growth in 1855, the estate was sold as a “national inheritance” after the French Revolution and changed hands several times before being acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) in 1984. With a slightly shorter aging time, this wine can be enjoyed at a younger age than its Grand Vin counterpart but shares the same full-bodied, honeyed and well-balanced characteristics.
